Express | Share | Care

When someone asks me to define - “home”, I become speechless and there is a smile on my face and sparkle in my eyes. The concept of home is so close to my heart, which is filled with memories, love, trust, care and a heart to heart connection between me and my family members.

When we talk about our Indian homes, we have a vivid picture of the care and support we get from our parents, grandparents and our siblings. When our parents are away for work, our grandparents have always been with us, played with us, told us very interesting stories which we still remember.

Home is: “something that sets you free”. “Home” is the only place where you are comfortable and you are with yourself, you share your experiences with your family members and siblings, where you can openly discuss about your life plans, where you learn your values. Everything what you do in life is based on an important thing called, “value”. The things that you learn at home and you value the same, you try to apply in your life and impart those values while you keep updating your knowledge. Home is a place where you are free to “express” yourself and do things that you enjoy doing the most, “that makes you feel free”. All chains and walls disappear and a beautiful picture comes to your mind is that of a “home”.

Home is a place where you “share”You share your experiences, you share responsibilities and you share your dreams. It is a place where you have memories of your childhood, where your mom has sung lullabies for you, where your granny has narrated bed-time stories for you.

Home is a place where you “care” – Your parents have been a part of your childhood days to school days to college days and beyond. Sometimes without saying a word, a family member - says so much by supporting other family members with emotional support.

For me “home” is like a magic space. There is so much to explore and learn every day. There is so much to rejoice and live each moment together. It’s a space where so much magic happens in terms of celebrations that we had together to the up’s and down’s that we have seen together to the travel plans that we have made together to the cake-cutting ceremonies on occasions such as birthdays, first pay-cheque day, on buying a new television/fridge etc.

The look, feel, colours, texture and size of the home might differ but, what remains the same is the warmth and comfort that a home brings to each one of us. That feeling of rejoice and the smile on our face when we return back to our home, after a long day at work. Each one us has a story to tell about their, “home sweet home”. There is one common thread that we all experience :  "We all belong to one place and each one of us has given it the same name, “home”.

Magic Happens with Thoughts

It was a bright,  sunny, early -  Sunday morning. Being quite relaxed and work-free, I was enjoying my early morning tea with muffins along with my favorite newspaper. While reading an article in the newspaper about friendship, my flashback memories were revived. I remembered going to my friend’s place a year ago and having spent a great evening with my friend and her mom. The memories became more vivid and my levels of missing my friend and her mom also increased.

Now my thoughts from being relaxed changed to that of “missing” those moments to a rising level. Several thoughts came to my mind, “I want to meet my friend and my friend’s mom right, now!!” Then another thought came to me, “I don’t have my friend’s mom number and my friend is out of town for work, so I cannot disturb her.” Now, what shall I do? I explored and thought and missed my friend’s mom and those memorable moments spent with her. I told myself, “I wish I would have her contact number, at least I could have messaged her and written a nice miss you thought or a poem”. “I wish I could have called her up this moment and wished her good morning”. “I don’t even have her address stored in my address book; otherwise, I would have met her”.

One thought led to another and I was mindfully enjoying the breakfast and at the same time had the feeling and thoughts of missing someone so special. Again when I was pondering, another thought came to my mind that made me smiled. The thought was that, "it’s okay if I cannot meet her now but, I can make something special for her". The same later on when I meet her, I could surprise her with the same.

Smiles, enthusiasm and my creative thoughtful spirit led me towards creating a nice piece of artwork for a dear friend and apparently she being an art lover like me, made me feel happier.

From the thought, “I want to meet my friend and my friend’s mom right, now!!” to the magic thought “I will create a surprise art work for her”. Now, that’s what I call the power of Magic Thought.

Heal. Smile. Blessed.

A thought came to my mind: about the word, “healing” and there was a shower of emotions. I had been thinking about this word earlier too and today I was “blessed” with a beautiful answer to so many of my questions. It was like a magical signal from the almighty (whom I call God Ji). God Ji is indeed great that he gifted me “a healing experience”.

God Ji gifted me “friendship” of an angel whom I met recently and in my answer I found that the angel had come to heal me. I found a friend in that angel. The thought then came to me was that, “finally it’s a miracle that I met my angel buddy and I got all my answers”.

My thinking behind these three words i.e. Heal. Smile. Blessed – is that when I ask myself the meaning of the word healing, I found a friend who beautifully explained me the same with few words and smiles. Then I smiled and felt blessed. So, I think that, “healing is a continuous process”.

Ask. Believe. Receive.

The three magical words that have changed my life are: Ask. Believe. Receive. I was blessed to read and understand the book, "The Secret" by the author Rhonda Byrne

While reading the book, these three words caught my attention and I started pondering over them. While understanding the mystery of the universe and it's powers, I started applying the principles of "The Secret" in my day to day life. To my surprise, things moved on smoothly and I got what I wished for. Right from my college admission in which city and which particular college to which area I wanted to stay, it was so wonderful to get them all.

The thinking behind these words is that, one needs to visualize what exactly one wants in his or her life and then "Ask" the same to the universe. The next step is very important stage of "Believing" why i quoted it as Believing and not the word Believe is because: Believing is a continuous process. One needs to believe that he or she will get what has been asked from the universe. During this process, the universe will make sure that the person "Receives" what has been asked for. On receiving we must cherish the wonders of the beautiful gift - received from the universe.

My thinking behind these three words which have been very close to my heart is that: When I ask what I want and visualize about the same – “I make a choice”. When I believe that I will get what I have asked for – “I again decide to make a choice”. When I receive what I had asked for – “I choose to cherish that moment”. Every time – “I choose”. So, life is all about making “choices”, making “decisions” and making “dreams”.

My Magic Thought: “I choose”.
